Step-By-Step Answers to Your Questions |

|
-- I am shipping Frozen Food or Frozen Meat.
What do I DO? |
 |
|
Frozen Foods and Frozen Meats are not insured like other goods.
They have special ICC Clauses because of the special
nature and risks associated with temperature-sensitive cargo.
We insure Frozen Foods or Frozen Meats by creating a
special category just for you within our system... a "Special
Project." ... that just becomes another "category" in the
pull-down menu near the bottom of our online Certificate Request
Form with your exact rates and terms for these.

Be sure you and the Shipper understand the
limitations of the insurance. |
ICC Frozen Foods A and ICC Frozen Meats A
both include what is often referred to as the "24-Hour Reefer Breakdown
Clause." (see links to exact wordings below).
In paragraph 1.2.1 of each the insurance requires that
a reefer unit stop operating completely for 24-hours or the insurance does
not pay.
NOT COVERED:
- Reefer does not maintain temperature but continues to
run
- Carrier sets the wrong temperature
